How to make your habit tracker

  1. Choose a design.Start with Notebook if you're not sure. It's the simplest to fill in.
  2. Pick the month and type your habits. Leave a line blank and you get an empty column to write in by hand.
  3. Download and print. Use the PDF for printing, the PNG for an iPad, or grab every month of the year in one file.

Six habit tracker designs

Notebook

The same grid as the Keizoku app. Days run down the page and habits run across, with a hand-drawn box for each day.

Bullet journal

The classic bujo spread: habits down the side, the days of the month across the top, circles on a dot grid and room for notes.

Habit wheel

A circle tracker with one ring per habit and one wedge per day. Color as you go and the month turns into a picture.

Sticker sheet

Cut-out habit strips with a box for every day, plus month labels and blank tags. Print on sticker paper or glue them in.

Year in pixels

One square for every day of the year. Use it for a single habit or for your mood, with a color key at the bottom.

Kids star chart

A weekly chart with big boxes and stars to color in. It's undated so you can print a fresh one every week.

Style it like the Keizoku app

The tracker uses the same look options as the app. Pick an ink color from the app's themes (Classic, Sepia, Graphite, Blueprint, Forest Mist or Sunset Citrus), then choose Clean, Sketchy or Rough lines, a line weight and straight or curved corners. Turn on weekday labels under More options if you like seeing the day names down the side.

Bullet journal inserts and habit tracker stickers

Drawing a habit tracker spread by hand every month is fun until it is the reason you skip a month. Pick A5 journal insert under Size and any design prints at A5 with a dashed cut line, on the A4 or Letter paper you already have. Trim it, glue it in, done.

The Sticker sheet design gives you one strip per habit with a box for every day of the month, plus month labels and blank tags. Print it on full-page sticker paper, or on plain paper and use a glue stick. Strips are easy to tuck into a weekly spread or the edge of a page.

What to put on a habit tracker

Choose habits you can answer with a yes or no at the end of the day. “Read 10 pages” works. “Be healthier” does not, because you can never tick it with confidence.

Keep the list short. Most people do better with three to five habits than with a page of fifteen, which is why the designs leave space instead of cramming rows in. Our guide on how many habits to track at once explains why. If you're not sure where to start, the habit scorecard helps you spot the habits worth tracking.

Why a paper habit tracker works

A tracker on the fridge or in your journal is a reminder you see without opening anything. Each filled box is a small record that you showed up. A blank box is just a blank box. Habits take time: in the best-known study on habit formation, it took participants a median of 66 days for a new behavior to feel automatic. A month on paper is a solid first stretch. Frequently asked questions

Is this printable habit tracker really free?

Yes. No signup, no email and no watermark. Just a small keizoku.app line in the corner. The tracker is drawn in your browser so nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Can I print a full year of habit trackers for 2027?

Yes. Pick 2027 as the year and use the All of 2027 button. You get one PDF with all twelve months in the design you chose, ready to print in one go.

Will it fit my bullet journal?

Choose A5 journal insert under Size. The tracker prints at A5 (148 by 210 mm) on a normal A4 or Letter page with a dashed cut line. The content sits inside a 134 by 196 mm block, so it also fits a Leuchtturm1917 Medium with a small margin.

Can I use it in GoodNotes or on an iPad?

Yes. Download the PNG for a single page or the PDF for a set, then import it into GoodNotes, Notability or any app that opens PDFs and images.

How many habits should I put on my tracker?

Three to five is a good start. Fewer habits means more boxes get filled. A page you can keep up with is more useful than a full one you abandon in week two.
